The U13/U14 Team won the 2026 Joe Kirley Memorial Baseball Tournament! Great work 8s.

Congratulations to the Junior Legion Team for winning the 2026 Brookings Buffalo Wid Wings Championship on July 10-12, 2026. The Team went 5-0 beating Volga in the Championship game 11-3.

Post 8 is pleased to announce this year’s Hometown Hero winner, the late Bill Gayton.

Bill’s impact on baseball extends far beyond the field. For decades, he dedicated himself to helping young players grow not only as athletes, but as people. A teacher at heart, he believed in hard work, preparation, and giving every player an opportunity to succeed. He spent countless hours at the ballpark throwing batting practice, offering encouragement, sharing his knowledge of the game, and advocating for players who simply needed someone to believe in them. His influence helped shape generations of ballplayers, many of whom still credit him for lessons that carried far beyond the baseball field. Through his selfless service, unwavering support, and love of the game, he truly exemplifies what it means to be a Hometown Hero.

Post 8 is excited to host the U14 State Tournament this year at beautiful Hyde Stadium and Kelly Field. The event will be held July 24th through 26th, 2026, with a rain date of July 27th, 2026.

Registration for all individuals wanting to play Post 8 Baseball for the 2026 season will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at the American Legion Cabin. NEW players must bring a copy of their birth certificate. The registration fee is $50.00, payable to Post 8 Baseball.
