2022 Legion Season Opener and Home Town Hero Celebration

On Tuesday, June 7th, Post 8 Legion Baseball will host a double header vs. Mandan, ND in the home opener of the 2022 season. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 P.M. at Hyde Stadium.

The Post 8 Baseball Hometown Hero Award will be presented to the family of Greg Dean in recognition of the contributions he and his family have made to Post 8 Baseball and this community. Dairy Queen has kindly offered to provide ice cream for this event.

Post 8 Baseball Pancake Feed Wrapup

On behalf of the Post 8 Baseball Board we would like to thank everyone who participated and took part in making these fundraisers a huge success. A very special thank you to the Post 8 baseball players for taking time from their busy schedules to come down to help out and meet their fans. Numerous comments were overheard on how polite, helpful, and well behaved these young men were to our guests. Great job, gentlemen.

We would also like to send a very loud shout out to the sponsors of this years events Overhead Doors, Krueger Contracting, and Cone Ag, Inc of Pierre and of course to Diane London (Perkins Family Restaurant) for providing all the breakfast supplies. 

The Post 8 Pancake Breakfasts will startup again in November of 2022 (date to be determined) and we look forward to seeing all of you again this Fall.

Pierre to host 2022 U14 State Tournament

Pierre will host the U14 state tournament this summer.  This is great news as the tournament can bring as many as 16 teams to Pierre. It was scheduled to be held July 27 – 31st, which unfortunately is the same time as all other state tournaments. Discussions are being held to determine whether a better time frame can be established to help with the potential umpire shortfall.

More information regarding the tournament will be made as it becomes available. 

2022 Post 8 Legion Baseball Registration (forms included)

Registration for all individuals hoping to play Post 8 Baseball for the 2022 season will be held -

When:   January 24, 2022

              5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Where:   American Legion Cabin (end of Main Street)

For all new players to the program, please bring a copy of your birth certificate. The cost of registration is $50 per player and checks may be made out to Post 8 Baseball.
