Hyde Stadium Sound System
On Tuesday night, the Pierre City Commission approved & awarded a bid to CommTech to install a new sound system for the Hyde Stadium Renovation Project. The initial cost of the sound system is 17,810 dollars but the Post 8 Baseball program will only pay 7,810 dollars due to CommTech owner Chris Anderson donating 10,000 dollars of the cost. The demolition portion of the Hyde renovation project is all but over and the rebuilding has begun. The new state of the art lights are in place and concrete pours for the dugouts have been done. Also the ‘concession/press box/ bathrooms building’ is up and enclosed. There are even blocks in place around the area behind home plate. Also the distances for the new outfield fences have been shot. Progress on the Hyde project continues pushing forward to next seasons grand re-opening.
Not actually part of the Hyde project but an important project next to Hyde is the City renovating the walking path along Capital Creek which is not only coming along well but is definitely making the creek area more scenic and accessible.
The entire area is going to be much more practical and up to date while keeping the classy ambience that Hyde has always been known for.
A donor recognition event called Take The Field is scheduled for Wednesday night, June 22.
