Pierre Post 8 lets RC Post 22 get away late in 16-6 loss

Pierre Post eight held tough until late against RC Post 22 on Monday, but RC Post 22 scored six runs late for a 16-6 victory at Hyde Stadium-Pierre.

Justin Berheim led Pierre Post eight's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third and fourth innings.

Cody Carlson got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over four innings. Cody struck out three, walked none and gave up six hits.

RC Post 22 hammered Pierre Post eight pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 11 hits, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

Tyson O'Daniel ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

RC Post 22 jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A double by Tanner Simons, scoring Carter Wevik and Connor Merriam started the inning off

It didn't take long for Pierre Post eight to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the fourth. Pierre Post eight scored on an RBI single by Ben Leidholt, an RBI single by Justin, and an error.

RC Post 22 went up for good in the fifth, scoring three runs on.

RC Post 22 added four more runs in the top of the sixth. A sacrifice fly scored Walker Paz for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Matthew Minnick's triple, plating Carter and Connor.

Two runs in the bottom of the ninth helped Pierre Post eight close its deficit to 16-5. A groundout by Shay Reinke sparked Pierre Post eight's rally. The game went final when Cash Anderson singled and was thrown out try to advance to 2nd.
