Pierre Post eight Jr Legion outlasted Brandon Valley on Thursday after eight lead changes, squeaking out a 8-7 win at Hyde Stadium-Pierre.
Pierre Post eight Jr Legion pulled out the win thanks to a strong ninth inning. A fielder's choice scored Connor Gerber and gave Pierre Post eight Jr Legion the lead for good.
Connor racked up two RBIs on two hits for Pierre Post eight Jr Legion. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Brandon Valley couldn't get anything going so long as Quinn Reimers was on the hill. Brandon Valley managed just one hit off of Reimers, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out two during his four innings of work.
Brandon Valley jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by Payton Livingston, scoring Taylor Thompson started the inning off.
Pierre Post eight Jr Legion answered Brandon Valley's top inning with five runs of its own in the first. Pierre Post eight Jr Legion scored on a single by Nathan Zimmerman, a two-run double by Connor, and a two-run single by Quinn.
