Pierre Post 8 Baseball outslugs Brookings in 4-2 defeat

Pierre Post eight Baseball lost 4-2 in seven innings at Bob Sheldon Field - Brookings on Monday, despite outhitting Brookings nine to eight.

Garret Jeppesen recorded the win for Brookings. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered nine hits.

Will Ellwanger took the loss for Pierre Post eight Baseball. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

The game was never in doubt after the first, as Brookings scored two runs on two doubles.

Brookings got one-run rallies in the second inning and the third. In the second, Brookings scored on a sacrifice fly by Mack Burns, scoring Mitch McKibben.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Pierre Post eight Baseball faced just a 4-1 deficit. An RBI single by Nick Rabern triggered Pierre Post eight Baseball's comeback. The Pierre Post eight Baseball threat came to an end when Jeppesen finally got Quinn Reimers to strike out.

One run in the top of the seventh helped Pierre Post eight Baseball close its deficit to 4-2. A sacrifice fly by Landon Badger fueled Pierre Post eight Baseball's comeback. Pierre Post eight Baseball's Reimers to end the ballgame.
